POSITION SUMMARY
As the Training Specialist you will be responsible for managing New Employee Orientation (NEO) and facilitate the schedule within the factory; Lead administration of iLearn and POKA transcripts, documentation and annual training compliance; Act as backup lead for ET Pillar; Lead On-the-Job (OJT) technical training writer development; Support and partner with project teams for the development, documentation and data management of work instructions, standards and training for new equipment, external vendor training, and systems; Manage training center resources: calendars, rooms, equipment, workstations, etc.; Partner with Education & Training Manager on various learning projects and initiatives driving skill and knowledge development to deliver business results as a learning organization; Fosters a safe work environment and supports operational goals and mission.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing NEO. Guides and facilitates the schedule during the week of NEO making sure the week goes smoothly: new employees have what they need to start successfully, and facilitators are clear about what is expected of them. Keeps activities on track and within budget. Performs debriefs of Orientation weeks and provides feedback to all involved. Actively engages in NEO continuous improvement activities.
- Improves, updates, and maintains record keeping systems that provides relevant information concerning training content, activities, attendance, and evaluation for both classroom and (OJT) learning engagement. These systems will include but not limited to current learning management system (LMS) - iLearn, POKA, Red Zone, SharePoint, and Teams. Tracking plant employee movement and subsequent training requirements, qualifications, and evaluation of training effectiveness. Follows up on and secures missing training documentation and maintains various reporting for Training and Development metrics.
- Aids in creating and updating training documentation leveraging relevant instructional design methodologies. Coaches, leads and assists departments, team members and peers to also do the same. Collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and document processes, procedures, work instructions and standards ensuring inclusion with future employee onboarding training. Assists in overseeing the various portable/virtual/online/physical resources of the Technical Training Center.
- Develops and delivers classroom/online/virtual training with an emphasis on our 70-20-10 learning principles using appropriate modes, methods, and materials for the best learning venue and knowledge transfer, with skill application. This includes choosing effective evaluation tools and methods to assess and measure results.
- Actively engages in and supports Total Performance Management (TPM) implementation and progression in the factory. Takes ownership of system work, coaching and assessing the E & T Pillar methodologies and promotes effective and practical use of tools and systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR Development or Training, or a nationally recognized training certification
OR
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR Development or Training required completion within 2 years and 1 year experience in learning and development or Human Resources environment
Other
- Experience with instructional design or training material development
- Experience with leading and managing projects

The approximate pay range for this position is $66,000 to $87,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
