Seasonal Staff
Summer jobs at Camp Allen are full-time seasonal. Compensation is competitive with other similar jobs and includes housing & food for the duration of the summer, including weekends and holidays. Workers are strongly advised to take advantages of our onsite staff housing. Hours vary from week to week and require some weekends.
Jobs will begin with training the week following Memorial Day and will end in early August. Working at a summer faith-based camp is a ministry and should be thought of in that way. We are specifically looking for students ages 17+ with a heart to serve and help provide "Life Changing Experiences" for all of our guests and campers.
Positions Available:
Lifeguards - We will pay to have someone certified by Redcross. Must be certified. Will lifeguard at our pool or waterslide during amps with campers ages 7-18. A typical day will include 3-6 hours of lifeguarding.
Outdoor Recreation - These workers will help with outdoor activities and equipment management. We have several yard games, kayaks in our lake, multiple sports activities in our gym, and our fort (shooting sports arena with sling shots, archery, BB guns, and ax throwing). Must enjoy working outside and be able to help/teach young campers with activities that are new to them. We want our campers to achieve some level of success with everything they try.
Dining/Hospitality/Dishwasher - These workers will be responsible for making drinks, setting up salad bar, cleaning tables, sweep & mop floors and taking turns washing dishes.
Food Service - These workers will be working in the kitchen alongside our food service manager. They will be helping to prepare meals for our campers throughout the summer. Workers will be responsible for cutting/chopping, frying and baking. Some experience preferred, but on the job training will be provided. Workers will learn valuable skills as they work in the busy commercial kitchen that provides up to 900 meals per day.
All workers will be cross trained and will work in other areas beyond their original job title, on an as-needed basis. Camp Allen is a slightly smaller, family atmosphere where everyone gets to know each other and build camaraderie. It is a great place to gain first-time job experience.
